THE CHORUS OF OPPOSITION GROWS
Respected congresswoman cites bigger government, higher taxes.
GLENDALE, ARIZ. – United States Representative Debbie Lesko (R-Ariz.) is adding her voice to the chorus of prominent Glendale and West Valley leaders who are strongly opposing Proposition 499, the measure backed by an out-of-state labor union that is poised to inflict severe damage on the Glendale economy if it passes.
“I urge everyone in Glendale to vote no on Proposition 499. If it passes, the entire Glendale economy – not just the tourism sector – suffers. What’s worse, it makes government bigger, calling for a new city department that will force city leaders to choose between cuts to essential services or higher taxes,” Lesko said. “We don’t need a California labor union telling us what’s best for our community. Save Glendale jobs. Vote no on 499.”
Rep. Lesko has long been one of the most respected elected officials in the state, having served in the state Legislature for nine years before being elected to three full terms in the U.S. House, where she has been a stalwart champion for families and taxpayers. She is the 2024 Republican nominee for Maricopa County Supervisor in District 4.
